Debi Rhinehart, CPA

Debi Rhinehart, CPA, joined the firm in 1995 and has been a partner since 2006. She serves a wide variety of clients including individuals, trusts, non-profits, and small businesses. She currently serves as trustee on a number of trusts. Her experience includes income tax preparation; tax planning; estate tax returns & estate planning; trust allocations; compilation, review & audit preparation; and CA probate court accounting. She has also received a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification and has assisted many clients with QuickBooks setup and assistance. Debi also oversees all computer and information technology resources of the firm.

Debi graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Biola University in 1993. She is currently a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). In addition to her experience with Harvey & Parmelee LLP, she has also worked as an Accounting Supervisor for a large aerospace manufacturing company.

Valerie Sullivan, CPA, joined the firm in 1987 and has been a partner since 2006. She serves a broad spectrum of clientele including high net worth individuals, estates and trusts, manufacturers, commercial real estate rentals and management, and other professional and service industries. Her special expertise is in tax planning for ministers, trust accounting and administration, and accounting and tax planning for closely held companies and their owners. She also serves as trustee on many trusts created by clients and deceased clients and is experienced in preparing trust accounting's in accordance with Probate Code requirements.

Valerie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from BIOLA University and, in addition to being licensed by the State of California as a Certified Public Accountant, is also a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary. She has also been certified as a National Certified Guardian by the Center for Guardianship Certification and has received Certificates in Professional Fiduciary Management for both Conservators and Trustees from California State University, Fullerton.

She is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), the National Guardianship Association (NGA) and the Professional Fiduciary Association of California (PFAC).

Valerie enjoys serving the local community and is involved with local charities and non-profit organizations.

Sarah Pierce, CPA, joined the firm in 2005. Her experience includes income tax preparation for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations. She has assisted in the preparation of trust accountings in accordance with California probate requirements as well as provided litigation support services. She also has experience in providing compilation, review, and audit services for a variety of clients, including manufacturing, trusts, and not-for profit organizations. She also has broad knowledge of multiple years of QuickBooks, including assistance with initial setup and conversion, business training, on-going maintenance, and troubleshooting. In addition, she is currently serving as the firms I.T. Manager including the maintenance of our Windows Server and multiple desktops. She oversees all upgrades to software and any troubleshooting of problems.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with the Leadership Studies Sequence from Claremont McKenna College in 2002. Prior to joining Harvey & Parmelee LLP, her background was in the private sector, including manufacturing analysis and project management. In addition, she strongly believes in the firm s values of providing service in the local community.

Jocelyn Bates, CPA, joined the firm in 2007. Her experience includes income tax preparation for corporations, individuals, and trusts. She also has extensive experience with monthly accounting for personal and business clientele including compilation and review services.

She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting from the Ateneo de Davao University in the Philippines in 1993. She is fluent in Tagalog/Filipino. Prior to joining Harvey & Parmelee LLP, she had eleven years of experience with both local and national public accounting firms including compilation, review, and audit services, income tax preparation, and trust accounting of pension plans.

 

 

Genno Coppa, CPA (Inactive)

Genno Coppa, CPA (Inactive), joined the firm in 2000 and retired as a partner in 2008. He has served a wide variety of clients throughout a career starting in 1957 working with small business including individuals, corporations, partnerships estates and trusts, manufacturers and professionals. His experience includes income tax preparation, estate tax preparation, estate tax returns, compilations, reviews and audits.

Genno has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Florida in 1957. He is currently a life member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to his affiliation with Harvey & Parmelee LLP, he was a partner in various local Certified Public Accounting firms in the Southern California Area.

 

 

Bill Mochon, CPA

Bill Mochon, CPA, joined the firm in 1999. He is licensed in both California and Hawaii and has over 40 years of experience in public accounting and income taxation. Prior to joining Harvey & Parmelee LLP, he was a sole practitioner for 27 years, after serving 6 years on the staff of the firm of Deliotte & Touche LLP, one of the nations five largest CPA firms. He is well versed with individual, partnership, corporation, trust and estate accounting, and tax situations. He is a diligent researcher and excellent problem solver. He has served as president of the Whittier Sunrise Rotary Club and is a Past Exalted Ruler of Fullerton Elks Lodge.

 

 

Michael Parmelee, CPA

Michael Parmelee, CPA is a former partner and owner who retired from the company in 2010 but continues as an employee to provide part-time consulting and tax services to the firm. Mike started with the firm in 1965. He is licensed as a CPA both in California and Colorado and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

With 49 years of experience in taxes and accounting and as a former trustee on many trusts, Mike continues to assist not only with income tax preparation for individuals, trusts and estates, but also with trust administration, division of trusts into sub-trusts, estate taxes, generation-skipping taxes, gift taxes and Probate Code accountings to trust and estate beneficiaries. He additionally assists with tax preparation for charitable remainder trusts and private foundations.

He is a graduate of Whittier College and a past President of the Whittier-Rio Hondo Kiwanis Club, a former chairman of the Whittier Area CPA’s, a former instructor in income taxes at Whittier College and former managing partner of the firm.

 

 

Richard Scrivanich, CPA, MS Tax

Richard Scrivanich,CPA, M.S. Tax, is a former partner and owner who retired from the company in 2019 but continues as an employee to provide part-time consulting, audit, and tax services to the firm. Rich started with the firm in 1982. He is licensed as a CPA both in California and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

With 40 years of experience in audit, accounting, and  taxes, Rich continues to assist not only with income tax preparation for individuals, and business entities, but also with performing  audits and reviews for many  of the Firm’s  business clients which require audited  or reviewed financial statements.

He received his bachelors degree  from California State University-Fullerton, and has a masters degree in taxation from Golden Gate  University. In addition, he is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce, the Whittier Host Lions Club, and his Church.
